Location: Vaughan, Ontario

The aim of our group exercise program is to be viewed by our staff, our clients, JCC members, and the community as offering high end commercial quality classes with a community centre feel, delivered by knowledgeable and dedicated professionals.

The Right Group Exercise Manager: We are looking to hire a vibrant Group Exercise professional who is engaging, friendly, energetic and passionate about creating one of a kind group exercise experiences for all members and guests.

Here’s what you’ve already accomplished:

  • University degree or diploma in kinesiology, physical education or equivalent
  • Current CPR‐C and Emergency Level First Aid certification
  • Current Group Exercise certification, together with at least one additional specialty certification
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a supervisory role within a commercial fitness facility (with an expectation to remain highly involved and connected within the high-end commercial fitness industry in the GTA)
  • Complete command of written and verbal English.  Hebrew, Russian or Mandarin language  skills are an asset (not required).

  1. The Group Exercise Manager will develop and maintain an extraordinary group exercise program at each of the JCC’s, and be responsible for offering classes where members feel welcome and valued while ultimately providing a wide variety of fitness opportunities and quality exercise experiences that help our members diversify their workouts and reach their fitness goals.
  2. The Group Exercise Manager will evaluate and amend the programs seasonally and adjust as necessary based on the needs of the business and the expectations of the membership.
  3. The Group Exercise Manager is responsible for leading and managing all Group Exercise Instructors at the 2 JCC locations while creating and delivering a schedule of special events that retain current members and attract new members to the JCCs.
  4. The Group Exercise Manager will be rigorous and astute in the process of selecting and hiring not only qualified instructors, but instructors with a proven record to drive participation by delivering entertaining, educational, motivating, and inspiring experiences that connect people to each other and the JCCs.
  5. The Group Exercise Manager is expected to have a strong social media presence and to remain very involved in the high-end commercial fitness industry to ensure the JCCs remain “on trend” and are positioned to compete for members, and attract the best instructors.
  6. The Group Exercise Manager is responsible for teaching a minimum of 2 classes per week at each JCC.

Member Service Representative
Location: London, ON

This person is responsible for tasks associated to the member service desk, performing all reception duties in a manner which portrays a superior customer service attitude. This role will support the facility initiatives related to the college wellness pillars.

RMT
Location: Toronto, Ontario

Health Systems Group www.healthsystemsgroup.com, a national provider of professional consulting and management services in fitness and wellness, has an opening for a Registered Massage Therapist at the Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre in Toronto, Ontario. The Private Fitness Facility, managed by HSG, features a saltwater swimming pool, exercise studios, weight floor/weight room, and gymnasium. The facility serves over 3500 members.

Applicants who meet the following criteria and can demonstrate their skill and ability in the following areas should apply:

  • Registered under the CMTO
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience as an RMT preferred
  • A proven track record of delivering exceptional treatment to Clients and an impeccable level of Customer Service
  • Excellent communication skills; including solid knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, etc.

We are seeking to hire someone who is available to work on Monday, Wednesday and Sunday.  Successful candidates will enjoy a team-oriented work environment with a competitive pay rate (60% of the hourly rate is provided to the Therapist) and vacation pay, and a complimentary membership in our on-site Fitness Centre.

Fitness Coach & Personal Trainer

Qualifications:
Certified personal trainer (CSEP, Can-fit-Pro, CPTN)
University degree or college diploma in physical education/kinesiology/fitness and health
Certified in CPR-C and Standard first aid
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in personal training
Monday to Friday 6:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Monday, Tuesday, and Friday 11:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Description of Positions & Responsibilities:
1) Part-time Fitness Coaching

  • Perform scheduled and impromptu fitness consultations
  • Supervise the fitness floor by maintaining a good rapport with members, overseeing proper use of the equipment and providing a quality environment
  • Provide referral services where appropriate such as personal training, lifestyle advice or nutrition consultation.
  • Manage health promotion projects such as the bulletin boards, newsletters, member handouts, and other educational materials.
  • Report to the Head Trainer and assist in on-going projects within the fitness facility
  • Must be available for weekends and flexible.

2) Part-time or Full-time Personal Training

  • Promote personal training service (one-on-one, semi-private or small group)
  • Deliver detailed and customized personal training programs to clients
  • Report directly to the Head Trainer and Director of Fitness
  • Experience & certification in Older Adult Fitness, Pre & Post Natal Fitness or other specialty fitness is an asset
  • Must be available for early morning clients.
