Part-time Fitness Consultant
Location: Waterloo, Ontario

Health Systems Group www.healthsystemsgroup.com, a national provider of professional consulting and management services in fitness, recreation and wellness, has an opening for a Part-time Fitness Consultant at myFitness Waterloo fitness centre in Waterloo, Ontario.

Fitness Consultant responsibilities include providing general fitness programs, leading group fitness classes (pending certifications), administration, facility maintenance/ cleaning, creation of “Wellness Boards” and customer service.

The ideal candidate would be a certified and experienced Group Fitness Instructor and/or Personal Trainer who is able to deliver Group Fitness classes and Personal Training services in addition to their consulting hours.

The current opening would require working Saturdays from 6:30 AM to 12:00 PM and some evenings until 6:30 PM.

Role Expectations

  • Demonstrates excellent customer service in order to create a service focused environment
  • Provide safe, balanced and technically sound fitness programs.
  • Provide assistance with membership services including Fitness Centre tours and orientations, complete program registrations and administrative assistance.
  • Multifaceted Training approach able to work with various clientele.
  • A commitment to core values including integrity, respect, service and teamwork are essential

Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in Fitness and/or Recreation (either accomplished or currently working towards)
  • Proof of valid Personal Training Certification (CSEP preferred)

  • Group Fitness Instructor Specialist (or equivalent)

Fitness Coordinator
Location: Waterloo, Ontario

Health Systems Group www.healthsystemsgroup.com, a national provider of professional consulting and management services in fitness, recreation and wellness, has an opening for a Fitness Coordinator at myFitness Waterloo in Waterloo, Ontario.

The fitness coordinator has many responsibilities in regards to the group fitness classes and programs offered including leading classes and creating the group fitness schedule. There is also a great deal of administration work including member registration and database statistic reports. We are looking for an extremely outgoing applicant with impeccable customer service abilities.

You must be available to work between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Mondays to Fridays and 6:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturdays.

Responsibilities:

The Fitness Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating all areas of group exercise including:

  • Scheduling, hiring and evaluating group exercise instructors
  • Administration duties and leading group exercise classes
  • Coordinating  and creating additional registered programs (E.g. Fall Bootcamp),
  • Marketing and event promotion (Website, Social Media, in house posters)
  • Exceptional customer service and a commitment to core values including integrity, respect, service and teamwork are essential.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of management and supervisory experience in a fitness and recreation setting
  • Degree or diploma in Fitness and/or Recreation
  • Proof of Group Exercise Instructor Certification• Proof of valid Personal Training Certification (CSEP preferred)
  • Proof of current SFA/CPR/AED
  • A proven track record of delivering exceptional Customer Service
  • Excellent communication skills; including solid knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Google, Database usage etc.

MANAGER, MEMBER AND GUEST EXPERIENCE

Position Summary
The Manager of Member and Guest Experience is responsible for the effective operations of the service desks resulting in the achievement of outstanding customer service, membership and program growth supporting policies and systems needed to provide a professional, friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable and resourceful front-line customer service experience for all who engage with the MNjcc.

Major Responsibilities

  • Cultivates a member centred environment by guiding and inspiring the staff team to deliver exceptional customer service to all who use the MNjcc.
  • Implements systems at the service desks that ensure both operational and service excellence.
  • Recruits, coaches and provides leadership to the staff team to meet department goals.
  • Establishes rapport and maintains effective relationships with members, staff, volunteers and community partners.
  • Fosters a work environment that values and encourages teamwork and empowerment
  • Implements and promotes a sales culture which supports membership and program sales.
  • Develops and manages member feedback and communication systems.
  • Implements, measures and improves customer service activities.

Education, Experience, Expectations

  • Minimum 4 years leadership experience managing a staff team in a comparable customer service environment.
  • Post-secondary education in office or business administration, hospitality or related fields.
  • Well developed interpersonal, and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with people with diverse backgrounds
  • Contributes to a work environment that values and encourages teamwork and empowerment.
  • Exceptional conflict resolution and collaboration skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Excellent organizational and administration skills including, scheduling, budgeting, payroll administration and policy writing.
  • Sales experience an asset.
  • Public speaking experience or presentation skills an asset.
  • Outgoing, positive attitude, persuasive, results driven and quick thinking.
  • Able to work flexible shifts including weekends and evenings.
  • Knowledge of Jewish culture and customs an asset.

Qualifications:
Certified personal trainer (CSEP, Can-fit-Pro, CPTN)
University degree or college diploma in physical education/kinesiology/fitness and health
Certified in CPR-C and Standard first aid
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in personal training
Monday to Friday 6:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Monday, Tuesday, and Friday 11:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Description of Positions & Responsibilities:
1) Part-time Fitness Coaching

  • Perform scheduled and impromptu fitness consultations
  • Supervise the fitness floor by maintaining a good rapport with members, overseeing proper use of the equipment and providing a quality environment
  • Provide referral services where appropriate such as personal training, lifestyle advice or nutrition consultation.
  • Manage health promotion projects such as the bulletin boards, newsletters, member handouts, and other educational materials.
  • Report to the Head Trainer and assist in on-going projects within the fitness facility
  • Must be available for weekends and flexible.

2) Part-time or Full-time Personal Training

  • Promote personal training service (one-on-one, semi-private or small group)
  • Deliver detailed and customized personal training programs to clients
  • Report directly to the Head Trainer and Director of Fitness
  • Experience & certification in Older Adult Fitness, Pre & Post Natal Fitness or other specialty fitness is an asset
  • Must be available for early morning clients.

Location: Toronto, Ontario

Health Systems Group (HSG) www.healthsystemsgroup.com, a national provider of professional consulting and management services in Fitness and Wellness, has an opening for a part-time/full-time Swim Instructor/Lifeguard at the Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre, located in the Annex neighbourhood at Bloor and Spadina. The fitness facility, managed by HSG, features a salt water pool, exercise studios, weight room and gymnasium. We serve 3500+ members.
